Heavy rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Priscilla has caused widespread flooding across Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County, forcing evacuations and damaging homes. The San Juan River overflowed its banks, inundating parts of downtown, including the Riverwalk and surrounding neighborhoods.
News & Resources
At least 100 people were ordered to evacuate, and nearly 100 homes have reported damage — with two homes completely lost.
Families are returning to neighborhoods filled with debris, mud, and water-damaged belongings.
Local shelters, churches, and volunteer teams are working together to provide meals, cleanup help, and emotional support.
Infrastructure repairs are ongoing — bridges, roads, and utilities were all affected.
Even though the water is receding, the human impact is far from over. People are sorting through what’s left of their homes and livelihoods, while others are still displaced or without utilities.
