Serve Source exists to strengthen relationships and foster collaboration. This one-day gathering connects church leaders, nonprofit partners, and disaster response ministries to build practical pathways for working together before, during, and after crises.
Focused on “what happens when…,” our team works with your leadership to design a flow that maximizes connection, collaboration, and learning—so every leader in your community leaves equipped to serve their congregations and become part of the response in times of crisis, whether it’s a major disaster or a community challenge where collective impact is the only way to make the greatest impact. Dennis Harris equips church and nonprofit leaders to move from good intentions to effective action in disaster response and community care. With extensive experience working alongside churches and ministry networks, Dennis helps leaders build clear response plans, mobilize volunteers, and strengthen partnerships that increase impact. His messages inspire leaders to see crisis as an opportunity for Gospel-centered ministry and practical collaboration.
Derick Zwerneman
Derick Zwerneman is a nationally respected voice in church-based disaster response and collaboration. As Founder and Director of Serve Source and a career fire service professional, Derick brings real-world credibility and practical insight to every message. He equips leaders to mobilize volunteers, build strong partnerships, and position the local Church to bring hope, help, and healing in times of crisis.
Joe Carson
Dr. Joseph Carson is the founder of Carson Development & Consulting, bringing over 20 years of entrepreneurial and executive leadership experience in church and nonprofit settings. He helps mission-driven organizations translate vision into healthy systems, strong teams, and sustainable growth.
He partners with Lead Beyond, Serve Source, and the Disaster Response Relational Network to equip leaders, strengthen collaboration, and advance coordinated mission impact. Dr. Carson is passionate about helping faith-based organizations flourish and serve their communities with clarity and unity.
