Aug. 24, 2023 - SINGER, La. (KPLC) - Wildfires continue to cause evacuation orders and road closures in Beauregard Parish. Friday evening, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office said containment of the Tiger Island Fire is “slightly higher” than the 50% estimated this morning due to the constantly shifting wind conditions and dry vegetation. Aug. 24, 2023 - Merryville, LA - Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire town of Merryville, Louisiana, on Thursday in advance of an approaching wildfire expected to reach the town limits by the evening.
