Mike Walker (Director of Serve 6.8) Fort Collins, CO... You are a blessing and encouragement to us all!
Over the last year Mike has walked out James 1:2-3 through one of the toughest times “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
His perseverance and strength continues as he fights for a full recovery from a brain tumor that was discovered just after many of us (national DR leaders) got to hang out with him in Austin, Tx at the annual NGO Roundtable - August of 2022. It's been a year for Mike and the Serve 6.8 team.
In this testimony... You will see how the Fort Collins Colorado network of Churches rallied in prayer and support. Such an incredible example of how God uses relationships to care for one another. This is what it is all about! Mike's scripture - Galatians 6:10 "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith." It's everything Serve 6.8 and Mike stand for... Always taking care of the family of faith.
Surgery was over 19 hours and Mike left the ICU after 3 weeks...
"They'd ask... How far would like to go today?" and Mike said, "I want to go twice as far as you think I can!"
